Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
Personal Evaluation: There is a LOT of car talk in this book (I finally learned what a chassis is). Peewee is a tomboy, and efforts to turn her into more of a lady are pretty entertaining. And I have to say, I love any book in which librarians are heroes.
What might interest children: All the car talk is probably a big pull for kids who are into cars. Plus it’s really funny. And Peewee’s relationship with her brother is great – there’s that whole element of the kids on their own, even if one of the kids is a grownup. It’s also a great historical fiction book.
